OCTOBER OPEN HOUSE - FALL IS UPON US
Fall is here, and the playa dust is still fresh!
Join us for our first Open House of the fall season after Burning Man, as The Box Shop reopens its gates to the community with art, activities, and a glimpse into the massive works that just returned from the desert.
PLAYA ART RETURNS
See incredible pieces that were created right here at The Box Shop and shown at Burning Man this year - including Haven by the Flaming Lotus Girls, alongside other Box Shop artists’ works that lit up the playa.
BIRD MASK MAKING
Get into the spirit of the season! Inspired by Haven and Halloween, we’ll have a drop-in art activity where you can craft your own bird mask to take home. Perfect for kids, families, and anyone feeling creative.
STAY FOR AFTER BURN
Later that evening, we’ll keep the celebration going with After Burn, our post-Burning Man party. Expect music, a bar, fire art, and even more playa-born pieces back on display.

TOUR 130+ MURALS!
We commissioned local artists to paint more than 130 murals throughout the space. The Box Shop is one of the Bay Area's largest open-air mural art exhibits!

Colossal structures are created at The Box Shop. Some become treasured public art, like Entwined Meadow - an installation in Golden Gate Park in the winters of 2020-2024. We’re also a Burning Man arts community hub. Dozens of Playa sculptures and art cars are built at The Box Shop. Check out the space, machinery, tools, and people that make this magic possible!
