The Box Shop is Busy Prepping for Entwined Meadow 2021-22!

In the last several weeks, a frenzy of artistic production has been underway at The Box Shop for several creative projects, namely, a new version of Entwined Meadow for San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in Peacock Meadow!

Charles Gadeken installing Entwined Meadow Nov. 2020 in Golden Gate Park

Proprietor of The Box Shop and artist, Charles Gadeken, has been commissioned for the second time this winter to install the whimsical, illuminated sculpted flora with ever-changing color and lighting patterns in Golden Gate Park. Last year, with high levels of Covid, stay-at-home orders, and many businesses closed, Entwined Meadow provided a joyful and adventurous excursion outside during the short winter days and long nights. As the Bay Area has been opening up, more people can come to play and explore in the magical lit forest this year.

Charles did not wish to install the identical sculptures and compositions as the previous year. He has been working furiously with his team of artistic supporters and wizards to create exciting, revised, and new sculptures with loads of tantalizing and playful new features. You can learn more about the all-new Entwined Meadow 2.0 here.

The project is planned to be installed in early December and run through February 2022. The San Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA) and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department make the artwork and experience possible. You can follow the SFPA page about the artwork to learn more about the installation launch, visiting hours, and more.

See you in the Park – in the meantime, we’ll be creating at The Box Shop!
